Whilst travelling from Wiltshire to Cannock in Staffordshire, the TMC on my GTM12 is good (signal level of 6 or 7 most of the way). When I have planned my route, it warns me of Traffic incidents that are not on my route - ie when I touch the red warning triangle on screen it shows an incident on the A34 whilst I am travelling on the M6 and then onto the A460 (I am nowhere near the A34.) I do this journey once a week and it is the same on each occasion.
Does anyone else have these issues?

The A34 goes straight through Cannock (from the same roundabout the A460 meets the A5 just South of Cannock) - if you pass the end of some traffic (even if you are not going onto that road) or cross through some traffic the Nuvi will provide you information about it, in case the tailback affects you.

This link shows the A34 and Cannock

So, it would seem (to me) to be working correctly.

Swing - I should have provided accurate information. The incident it shows up most of the time is at "weeping cross on the A34" and I come off the M6 at J11 and head to Cannock on the A460. As you rightly say, the A34 does go through Cannock, but the incident is 8.4 miles from Cannock, so should it still show this? HERE is the map
Edit once to sort out the link - don't worry about not getting it right, we have all (and still do) get this wrong from time to time - Mike Alder

Quite possibly - the TMC system only has a set number of points and all the system does is say "traffic between point x and point y" - although 8 imles does seem a long stretch to have as a single section of road, I've seen similar lengths of road as a single stretch (for traffic) before.

When it occurs, click on the line of traffic, and then click on the map button and it will show you exactly where it thinks the traffic starts and stops (and will show your route too), which may explain to you why it's appearing.

Either way, it still sounds fine to me (ie not broken), even though it still seems wrong to you.
