|
|
Hi,
I have a tomtom go 300 and recently upgraded to 6.520. Since the upgrade my Voices and POI (Camera db) are no longer available on the tomtom menus. They are still in the correct folders, I checked on PC.
I've searched the forums but can't find an answer.
Thanks for your help,
Ian. |

Ian, Welcome to the forum as you have upgraded the software this will have replaced the data.chk file which is where your spoken alerts used to live, if you look HERE - to get the warning sounds and visual alerts you need to go to Change Preferences/ Manage POI/ Warn When Near POI and configure each camera. Have a read of the link for the new way of creating spoken alerts before you configure the warnings, it might save doing the job twice - Mike |

...and as for the missing camera database - was it the TomTom one? If so they have changed it so it is no longer part of the POI system, but done on a seperate menu.
If it was the PGPSW one, it SHOULD still be there. If you've lost it you should be able to just re-copy the files back to the map folder (from a back-up or a new download). |

Was the pocketgpsworld camera database, and a load of voice files. The files are on the SD Card in the right places, they havent moved since before the update. I did copy them off and back on again, but no difference.
They show up in the tomtom software that runs on the pc in the exporer as being on the tomtom. But they don't appear in any of the POI or voice menus at all ! So I can't even turn on the camera poi nevermind set the warning distances, etc.
I did copy a new data.chk file off this website that was for the 6.520.
Its a real mystery ! |

If so they can be set up in HOME. Do it that way.
If you use the Disconnect Device Icon, at the bottom of the HOME Screen, when you've finished, it will save the Settings. _________________ Richard

I have upgraded my TTG500 to 6.x and have Tom Tom speed camera warnings. As you say they no longer appear as POI's but where is the menu you refer to? I am not getting any warning sounds and can't work out where to configure them.

From the horse's mouth: (http://www.tomtom.com/support/index.php?Language=1&FID=5205)
Quote: | Safety Cameras - it's now easier to manage your Safety Cameras. Safety Cameras have been removed from the list of POIs. To enable or disable Safety Camera warnings, tap these buttons from the Main Menu: TomTom PLUS services / Safety Cameras / Enable/Disable warnings. The list of POIs is also easier to use, as it no longer has lots of entries for Safety Cameras. |
