Hi all (staff and mods too!) - just wondered if you had a definitive answer on compatibiity of the N20 with the camera database? The N20 comes with Smart ST 2006 and it seems to be very similar architecture to the icn530 that it replaces so it would be good to know. Not sure I want to try it on my new toy in case it locks it up or something. Let the experts have a go first....

It works with no problems at all. The .wav files are also easy to customise.

Great news - assume you just follow the instructions for the icn530 then? Is there a step-by-step guide anywhere to changing the .wav files as well? |

I presume the 530 instructions work. It really is very simple.
I have not seen a 'dummys' giude to the .wav files but just go to somewhere like http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php and make your own files. you can then change the pauses or volume using something like Audacity (freeware). You need to do this because the volume on the N20 is crap so increasing the volume of the actual wav file is a useful trick although you do get a bit of distortion.
It really could not be simpler.

It's on p94 of the manual but essentially you add your own .wav files to the library and then ensure that the one you want is selected for each Custom POI you transfer to the device. _________________ Tim |
