Yes, the 660 uses the same POI Loader that the rest if the Nuvi range (and many other Garmin units) uses. |

Thinking of ditching TomTom and going for the nuvi 660. From the gpsmagazine.com review it seems that the 12/24 volt power lead plugs into the socket of the windscreen mount and not the 660 itself.
Being a Brodit fan it looks as though the 360 swivel mount (p/n 215116) would fit the 660 but even if it does, it seems there is then no way to power the 660 from the cigarrete lighter......or am I missing something? _________________ Tony

I think you are missing something - the Brodit mount finishes in a ball. The front part of the Nuvi mount (whether 310 or 660) then connects to this ball mount. This front part of the Nuvi mount contains the connector for the power cable.
So, it'll work just fine. |

I dont like it compared to my Nuvi 360. It slight takes away the feel of a handheld device that can fit in your pocket which was the big thing that puts me off a tom tom for example.

If the 660 came with an FM transmitter I would get one tomorrow. Sadly this functionality is disabled in the UK.
Maybe over the next 6 months after the law changes they will ship fully functional units. |
