Does anyone know where you can buy a suction cup windscreen mount which will hold an IPAQ in landscape orientation, rotated 90 degrees? I'm after a simplistic one with no speaker or charging point etc on it. |

I just thought of this as a possibility, TomTom say on their site that from Q4 2006 this mount which is for the new TTOne will be available on it's own as an accessory. Well if you machine off the two rails I have highlighted with Red arrows it leaves pretty much a flat surface which 2 strips of hook fastener could be attached to. Two corresponding strips of pile fastener on the back of the PDA and there you go!? Might be a bodge job but could well end up being a neat solution. This new mount does not vibrate at all whilst driving.

I am not too sure which ipaq you have but I would have a look at HERE if you want to risk a few hundred pounds of PDA hanging by "Velcro" to a "Bodged" tomtom holder then thats up to you.
To be honest you want the PDA secure in the car (and it should be), Brodit have a number of options that will no doubt fit your device, look for a tilt / swivel unit, that way you will get the landscape mode you are looking for - Mike |

Thanks Mike, I like the look of some of the ones on there, particularly the one which fits to the air vent siting the unit a little to the left of the steering wheel (Mondeo). Point taken about Velcro being unstable, it does counjours up images of the thing hanging half off. Dual lock made by 3M would be more suitable, we use it at work good stuff:
