Seems like tomtom 6 Europe fits nicely on a 2gb card and works well. There is also room for the odd dictionary and one music track. Yes, the IPAQ 3870 will only read/write to 1GB of the 2gb card. Just thought I would mention it in case others here might want to load their PDA with Tomtom 6 Europe expecting to add lots more info to it on a 2gb card.

Have you tried partitioning the sd card into 2 1gig partions, this works for the XDA range of devices from O2 |

I have not the faintest idea how I would partition my 2gb card. Any step by step help here would be much appreciated.

Im in a similar situation as you, only US maps. I dont really need an entire map of North America, but rather my region for example. Do you know of any way to edit the tomtom maps or choose what to upload? |

BACK UP ALL THE DATA ON THE SD CARD IF YOU DO NOT MAKE A BACKUP YOU WILL LOOSE ALL OF YOUR DATA, You have been warned, don't blame me if you loose all your stuff.
Put your SD card in your card reader open up Disk manager from start-programs-administritive tools-computer managerment-disk manager.
Pick the driver letter that coresponds to you card reader, right click then deleter the partition, right click again and select new primary partition, and select the size you want (normaly half the size of the card ie 1 gig card primary partion of 512mb) once you have created the primary partion right click and create a extended partition in the extended partition you then need to right click and create a logical partion with the remaining space.
Once both partitions are create you can right click and format them one at a time using good old FAT.
