Just got a 710 and have been trying to upgrade from version 6.1 to version 6.51 as the tom tom website says this is the latest version.
Have downloaded tom tom home and supposedly when I connect my 710 it will automatically upload any updates.
The problem is tom tom home is telling me there are no updates.
So even though the tom tom website says 6.51 is this an upgrade for the 710 or not. |

Assuming your PC has the Home application installed and an open internet connection you should dock the TomTom 710, switch it on and when it asks do you want to connect to computer tap yes.
At this point TomTom Home should start and automatically look for updates, if not click File/ Preferences in the home application and make sure the "Check for updated content when i'm logged in and my TomTom device is connected to the computer" is ticked - Mike |

Have you logged in to TomTom Home, if this is a first attempt you might need to setup an account, it only needs your e-mail details etc, if you have done this and it still doesn't work try turning off any firewalls while the TomTom Home checks for updates, it could be a firewall problem (non trusted software) - Mike |

Rejo,
Did you see it download any files when you first docked it?
Was one of them a new version?
To check the current state of your application software :-
1. Connect up your GO.
2. Make a backup.
3. Click on the 'Check for updates' button.
4. Click on to 'Download Your Updates' button.
This will display the updates available in the middle window and what's on the SD card on the right hand window.
3. Hover your mouse pointer over the SD card's Application and read off the version number.
4. Do the same with the middle column.
5. If the version sat on your PC is newer than the one on the SD card press the install button.
Hope this helps |

I knew someone who overlooked the green install button on the top right corner. |

Daheim: Inode
Büro: AcoNet :D
