|
|
Hi,,
Can anybody recommend a vent holder for my new MDA Vario? Do these holders hold a PDA securely? I have seen ads that say "for semi-permanent use only". I have Citroen C5 (yes I've heard all the jokes before!). An active one is not necessary unless I can turn the volume VERY low or mute it. Also need to charge GPS receiver!
Thanx |

Have a look at the range offered by Brodit , you might want to consider the type of holder and mounting clip, not the cheapest, but then again why spend £350+ on a device and only a tenner on the holder? - if it goes flying across the car at speed it might (if you are lucky get broken, unlucky = possible crash) - Mike |

People do though dopn't they - its like not getting a case or just using a slip case (I've had friends who've had cracked PDA's from sitting on them in their back pocket. When possible I've always had hard case ones than have protected it the one or two times it has fallen on the floor!
I would suggest a customised one rather than any generic one, I'm not sure cost is an issue (as to whether any are better than others IMO) but decent ones do usually cost more than a tenner and worth it for security. Personally I don't like rachett type ones as if the rachett fails or you haven't clicked it in enough your PDA could go flying!
I have a "universal" swan neck rachett type for my phone and most time its fine but the odd time my phone has come out. I'm looking for one for my PDA (when I get it) and most likely will avoid swan necks, as my phone one shakes unless I have it doubled over so the phone is close to the base (say less than half the swan neck length) |
