TomTom Current position information

Have just started using TomTom2 + Dell Axim. On the whole the system is great and performance and useability better than the in car system I used to use. However I cant see how during a route you can see which road you are on. Am I missing something or is this a feature not present. If so are there any patches that could add this to my system.

Top Left-hand corner of your screen in Navigator2 application: are you looking at the "Instructions" screen only (which doesn;t show maps/roads, or have you gone straight to the "navigator" view, but your pocket pc hasn't connected yet to the GPS (assume your using a gps receiver, right?).
