This is my first post so please bear with me! I have a brand new Nuvi 300 and GTM12. The GTM12 seemed to work the first 2 times I plugged it in ie downloaded software when plugged in. However, since then it does not download anything on start up, I get a message saying 'check traffic master' and I get 2 beeps every 10 seconds or so. The traffic icon appears on the main page but it is grey - I think it should be blue, is that right? When I go into settings and select the traffic icon a message comes up saying 'please connect traffic master to nuvi'. This makes me think it is not working, anyone else had this problem?
I have updated the software on the nuvi to v 4.10, when I checked to see if it had installed on the Nuvi it had but it said GTM10 not GTM12. Could this have anything to do with it? |

All Garmin units currently display any connected GTM traffic unit as a GTM10.
I've certainly had some odd problems, including a message to "Check traffic receiver" - I'm still not sure how I was supposed to check it!
However, plug the USB computer cable into the back of the car mount, and plug the traffic receiver into the side (as normal). Then plug the USB cable into your computer, and turn on the Nuvi - this should confirm (with traffic information) whether or not your traffic receiver is faulty. |

Yep I've tried that got the same results... However the missus phoned up Garmin today and explained the situation and was told that because the icon appeared on the screen the Nuvi knew it was there and it was unlikely the GTM12 was faulty. He thought it could be the power supply and is going to send a new lead. I'll try this before sending back the GTM12. |
