Hi Guys !

great site really good job !

I am a new sat nav user, i have just added the speed camera warnings on to it and would like to know if i can change the splash screen, i see it's easy to do on the other TT's but can you do it on the new ONE ?

also is it possible to change the POI warnings on the one as well ??

Yes, you can replace the splash.bmp and shutdown.bmp with your own creations. You will want to add some scary message to the splash.bmp like "This device is registered with the police" etc...

I've done it myself but found that the picture had to be a very specific size, e.g., for the 510 the splashw.bmp file has to be 420 x 272 pixels, 64k colours and in .bmp format.

Copy the existing file onto your pc and then check its properties using Paint or Photoshop or similar, then make sure your preferred image matches exactly by stretching, cropping, etc.

The V1/V2 (& OLD Go series afaik) splash is 320x240
The x10 is 480x272

Did I really say 420x272?

If you're happy to do it just replace your splash.bmp with your new one.

Alternatively rename the original one to oldsplash.bmp or similar and copy/paste the new one in.

THANKS FOR THE INFO CHAPS - However please can you assure me this works on the tomtom one v2 and the size needed, sorry to sound wimpy but all the posts refer to other models ?

also is there a way to change the sounds on tomtom one for poi speed cameras ?

i quite fancy like a red alert sound or something ??
