On the side there is the SD card slot, a usb port and another round plug in point. Whats this one for?

tynecomp is correct. Is is a standard socket for audio out. Its a stereo output and can be used for headphones or to connect to the fm radio with those new tiny transmitters or a lead straight into the aux. input of the car radio or even into any powered speaker input.
