Hi Anyone,
I have just purchased a Garmin StreetPilot i3 and want to add the speed cameras to it.
I want to pay by card but not sure about Nochex, never heard of them.
By going through them, do I incur further charges as well as the £2 a month subscription.
Also, by subscribing monthly,do we have to re-new each month or are we committed for a period of time? _________________ Take care.

I didnt incur further charges for using nochex and the site pretty much says you wont unless you have an obscure mastercard ('very rare' are their words).
If you subscribe 'monthly' you are just paying for that months download(s) as a one-off . You dont have to renew unless you want to get a newer download and you arent committed to buy any more.

There have been a lot of reports on here that paying by Nochex takes a long time (several days) to get authorised.
This means that you pay, try and try to download, get nowhere, and end up posting in the forums to find out why it hasn't gone through.
Not sure, but PayPal might be much quicker. |

Oh, and I meant to say that a one-month subscription allows you to download as many times as you like, in as many formats as you like, for a month.
So if, as recently, they do two releases in a month, you get both, and if you want to experiment with different versions (all-in-one, speed-zoned etc.) you can download them all. |

Cheers Andy_P2002,
I've subscribed and not too sure what to do, I downloaded the single file and one other one which mentions Garmin.
Having previously downloaded the POi whatever, and attempting to run the file was informed it was corrupted. So I deleted it and went and downloaded again. This time I have installed that file and when I get the courage ,will try and install the speed cameras. _________________ Take care.

Ronnie, How far do you get with the install. lets just check a couple of things first though:
1/ Was you Garmin i3 supplied with a memory card fitted?
2/ Have you got the Garmin POILoader application on the PC?
3/ Does the PC recognise the i3 when it is plugged in?

To solve another problem in advance, can I just point out that you need to set POILoader to use MPH, rather than KPH, every time you load the cameras _________________ Jock

Hi BGF,
thank you, I made sure it was set to Feet and Miles. I'm very anti EU. Well thanks to Mike for his behind the scene step by step guide, I am very happy to say, I have now successfully installed the data.
Cheers Mike, you are a star. I'm now off for a drive to test it out. _________________ Take care.
