TT5 + MDA 2 = sleepless nights

I have just bought a BT-77 GPS to go with my MDA 11 compact.

But when I go to select other BT GPS in TomTom 5 it doesn’t give me the option of com port 6. (I can only select com ports
6 or 7 on my BT settings on my MDA).

The only options to select on TT5 are com 0, com 2 ,com 3 , com 9 , infrared port or serial port.

Any help or advice you could give would be great.

Is your MDA II a Windows Mobile 5 device?

If so, the setup works a bit different

- discover the BT77 from the MDA II
- select the offered Serial Port service
- create a new Outgoing COM port using the BT77. The MDA will tell you if the port number is free or taken
- In TomTom, select that newly added COM port.
