After being happy with my new version TT1 for the last week, I am now having problems with the suction failing and the unit dropping on the dash, I have had to resort to using a lanyard from the TT and using another widow sucker to hang the lanyard to as a safety catch to save poor Tom from landing on the floor. I drive a Taxi over a 9 hour shift and it has dropped 4 or 5 times during this period, any one started having problems?

I have attached a pic to show what I have had to do.

As long as the suction cup is not damaged.

Clean windscreen with a decent cleaner, then smear a little washing up liquid onto suction cup, and apply as normal.

PS,

From your photo,, your sat-nav IS in the line of site, so you may be breaking the law.

Move it down into the right hand corner, and you should be ok.

"you should be ok"

i like the term should.. he he.. but having to smear washing up liquid on the suction cup every time u stick it on shouldnt be neccessary should it..??

basically are these new cut down suction devices up to the job is the real question..

compared to the old lever type they are definitely cut down.. or "cheapened" shall we say..

examine the rubber for any defects or hairlines. The new sucker is working pretty well if the surface is undamaged.

Are the plastic fingers stiff or have they maybe weakened?

its distracting your attention from the road ahead thow which technically makes any windscreen mounted satnav device illegal.. he he he

kinda reminds me of the law that says no TV shall be mounted in any position where it is visible refectively or otherwise from the drivers seat..

just me being an-l.. i dont spose u would get nicked wherever u put one nowadays..
