Has anyone else got one of these? I've just bought one (I think they are new on the market and there aren't many retailers at the moment - I bought mine from NicePC where I got my laptop from but I've also since seem them on Amazon). It cost just under £250 and seemed really well featured for the money. I haven't really heard of Fujitsu Siemens making these products before but I've had one of their laptops for a few years so I thought I'd give it a try.
The first thing that attracted me to it was the fact that it is small, probably not much bigger than a mobile, but a bit wider. The style of it is like an iPod rather than a clunky box, which actually means it is much easier to carry around if you're wary of leaving valuables in the car.
Then I had a look at the technical specs and it has the latest version of Navigon (6) which has a great 3D view and the maps supplied include the whole of Europe - something which can cost quite a bit extra from other manufacturers. I've not had it that long and haven't been on any out of the ordinary trips but I have been very sad and had it guide me to work and the shops just to try it out. From my preliminary investigations it seems to know where it is going!
It comes complete with a 1GB MiniSD card and all of the maps pre-installed and it will play MP3s through the loudspeaker or headphones too.
I found it on a review on the following site which has lots of technical info that might appeal to some of you.

If you fancy trying something just a bit different that is affordable, useful and stylish (not a word often associated with SatNavs) then I think this is well worth a look and I'd really like to hear from anyone else who has one. |

Hi,
Yes i got one of the F-S N100's last week and think its pretty good - especially as it fits in the pocket and gets me home from the pub on Friday evenings. Small, compact, efficient and accurate - got my vote from the start.
Only question now is: which speed camera software do I download for it.....?

I've heard a rumour from a friend who works at PCworld that Navigon are currently working on allowing speed camera overlays on their maps. I'm not sure how soon they will be available or if they will be compatible with the current software but I would presume that as this feature is going to be ever more popular as the number of cameras rise that this will be something that they would want to release quite quickly.
Does anyone know if it is possible to load any ordnance survey type maps onto this machine - or even if the Navigon software would be useful to people who enjoy hiking etc? In theory this would make a great machine for that purpose as it is such a portable unit. Again I suppose because this is such a new machine on the market this type of software support may take a little time to filter through but I'm sure someone will spot the gap in the market.
Other than these issues - which aren't really related to the machine for its intended purpose - I am genuinely very happy that I have gone the Fujitsu Siemens route rather than opt for the much bulkier (and apparently slower responding) TomTom-like units. |

I red this in the review
One notable omission is the ability to import custom points of interest, and of course I'm thinking of speed-camera locations in particular. This is likely to be an increasingly important buying decision when comparing the N100 with units that come with speed camera data already built in.
So it cant input custom poi's yet |
