Hi,
I've just purchased a 910, and have subscrided to the speedcam database.
I've loaded evrything up, and I'm using the inbuilt POI warning feature?
I've noticed that it seems to pick up POI's within radius, is this the way it works ? I've read up on CheckPOInt, which allows the programming of an 'Approach Angle' so that the number of false alerts should be reduced, although CheckPOInt isn't available for the go's.
I've also seen POIWarner, which is available for the GO, has anybody had any experience of this program, or are there any others out there that people would recommend over the 910's inbuit warning

Thanks

Dave

In the "warn when near POI" option, tick the box "Warn only if POI is on route" and the unit will not alert you of cameras within a radius.

Hi all,
I had unchecked the "Warn only if POI is on route" deliberately. From reading through the forum I thought that the concensus was to leave this unchecked otherwise you aren't warned if the cameras weren't exactly on the road? The other obvious problem is that if you have no route set you won't get any warning.

Thanks
Dave

The problem is that warnings are given by how near you are. The only way you can avoid that is to tick the warn when on route box. The problem with that as you rightly point out is that it will not warn you if you don't have a route set.

No way round this dilemma i am afraid. I untick the box and put up with the off route warnings. As soon as I get a warning I glance at the screen to see where it is.
