Can I delete all voices I do not need on my C510? I need only the Swedish voice and as the Mio sometimes chang itself to the American voice, it would be easier just to have the right one. If I want to put other voices back at a later time, would that be a problem?

Hi IanCurtis.

You can delete the voice files you do not require, but there may be a problem if it ever looks for the default (US male) voice when the Mio has one of it's moments. Not sure about this one as I have left all the voices on mine.

The voice changing back to US voice now and again is a known software bug.
However, there is a workaround.
Go to the Language page and change the language (not the voice) to any other language you understand. My guess is English would be good for you.
The Mio will then tell you Miomap will restart, click on Yes.
Then go back to the language page and change it back to Swedish.
The Mio will then tell you Miomap will restart again, click on Yes.
Now your selected voice will stay selected all the time, unless you ever have to do a hard reset, then you'll have to do all of the above again.
A soft reset does not affect it.
I've never had any reason to do a hard reset. A soft reset seems to sort out most things.

I use the workaround and it has never gone back to the US voice, so maybe you can try that first.

Hope this helps.

CeeJay.

Thank you, CeeJay.

I was aware of the the bug and the workaround, but what I didnīt think of is that the bug would be back after a hard reset. So now I have applied the workaround again and it seems to work this far. Thank you.

Ian
