|
|
I have a TomTom One (v6.15) and an Orange SPV C600 phone. Using the connect to phone function to set the connection up I can get Traffic to work, but it uses CSD rather than GPRS to make the connection.
This means that traffic updates fail if I am making a voice call at the same time (and that I can't make voice calls if a traffic update is in place).
In addition it doesn't clear the CSD data call when the traffic update is complete (or ever so far as I can tell). This means that I pay until I notice and clear the call manually.
I can't find any way on the TomTom or the phone to make it use GPRS.
Is there a way? |

Not any more. Older versions used GPRS but all newer versions only use CSD. We complained to TomTom about it but they preferred not to listen. _________________ Lutz

Could be down to the phone. Mine hapilly connects using 3G from my 910 and I'd be mightily if it started trying to connect over an old 9.6kb link (for which I don't have free minutes). |

Is that THREE (3G0, or another network. I ask as I cannot set up a wireless connection with my 3G phone. Its on THREE. _________________ Regards

No, Orange. I have rather 4 free mb a month on my 3g connection and I'd rather that TT used that rather than run up a huge phone bull.
Just checked my last bill. 0 minutes of CSD used, 2.8mb of GPRS/3G data.. no suspicious calls either (they'd stick out like a sore thumb with my usage). |

I am confused by what is being said in this thread. What are these "newer" versions being refered to? |
