Seems quite a good idea, however, I personally prefer to take my Sat Nav with me and NEVER leave it in the car. _________________ Tommo...

Ah but the Tomtom One is a lot easier to carry around than say the Tomtom Go 510/710/910 which are quite bulky. The Autosafe box & also the Stoplock strongbox which is £15 cheaper look like a possible solution to this problem.
So here's a question for owners of the 510/710/910:
What do you do with your 510/710/910 when you leave your car?
I have been leaving my 910 in the boot & only take it into my house each night. _________________ TomTom Go 910 (3) v.6.522 Map Western Europe v.650 with useless TMC receiver

Mmmmm good idea but....
It really does not matter what security devices you use on anything to do with your car these days. If the little blighters who want to get in to your car and nick you car stereo, sat nav or the car itself then they will by whatever means it takes.
At the end of the day why leave temptation in the way of the tempted.
And also why line the pockets of someone who has come with some gimmicky little container that the average theif would probably pick the lock of in seconds. £55 for something that is just a re-designed cash box worth £7.99 from a well known catelogue company.
Risk it if you wish, but I wouldn't. _________________ chauf4

It's not a good idea to get out of your car and put anything in the boot; thieving scum will latch onto your car if they see you.
I once parked my car on my drive and took out some shopping, as I was closing the boot I saw this young guy looking directly at me as he walked past; about 20 mins later I had to go out to the car again - window was through, back seat pulled down to gain access to boot; this scum obviously thought I was putting something in the boot.
Another time a guy at work put some junk in his boot before going into work for the day; came out at 5 o'clock and you guessed it - smashed window...
Now if I must put something in the boot, especially in car parks or busy areas I crawl through to the back and use the back seat method, at least your not so visible that way. |
