I bought a TomTom ONE a couple of weeks ago, which arrived with software version 5.45, as I don't have broadband, I have only just managed to upgrade to 6.15 using a friends broadband connection.
All looked fine, until I tried to navigate to postcode, only to discover I have lost all the postcode search options ??
Is this a feature of 6.15 ? Seems bizarre as postcode searching was one of the main reasons I picked the TomTom ??
Having had no help whatsoever from TomTom over how to upgrade, I can't be bothered to try to contact them, so will just go back to the backup I took of 5.45 but this seems a bit rubbish, so wanted to warn others who are thinking of upgrading. _________________ --

Do you not get the Navigate To/ Address/ PostCode option within the menu? - Mike |

From navigate to screen I had address, favourite, POI etc, everything except postcode (the one I mainly use).
Tried 'view all menu's' and still nothing ??
Restored my backup of 5.45 and all working fine, so think I will give up on upgrading, as TomTom seem to make it as difficult as possible for non-broadband users, and when I tried it breaks the feature I bought the ONE for !! _________________ --

It's still there, but you get it after selecting "navigate to address": the postcode option comes up then. I suppose it's logical in some respects. |

HI
What Mike and BRMS are saying is correct.
If you go in to navigate to, then select address, then you are given the option to select postcodes.
Hope you manage to navigate your way to the postcodes. _________________ chauf4

Thanks.
Perhaps TomTom should give you a pdf file documenting the changes and user guide additions to avoid this confusion !
It was so much hassle to find someones broadband connection to use to do the upgrade (as TT Home can't cope with a proxy server from work, and I have dial up at home), I don't think I will bother again, especially as the main thing I wanted in 6.15 was customised menu's, which I found you don't get anyway, just a choice of half/full menus.

It has been a while that I used a dialup connection, but surely it's doable to download 10MB for the update? 8O Should not take more than half an hour with 56k modem. Not that I want to prevent you from visiting your friends _________________ GO1005
