I'm totally confused on this one folks. Question

I've just updated TomTom Home this morning.
It now has an option on the left for you to be able to get Traffic through your PC on your "simulated" GO on the PC.

Fabulous touch. It's just shown me that the street right outside the Campsite I will be staying at next week on my hols has got Temporary Traffic Lights!! (No doubt doing the repairs in anticipation of my arrival Wink )

Anyway, I had a little play and thought it was great.
Still don't think it's worth the money though..... but here comes the confusion:

I haven't subscribed to it... my supposed trial has run out (well it told me it ran out after one day, but hey)

Just disconnected the GO, turned it on, and it is allowing me to get Traffic updates.
All of the icons are visible, and it's just apdated itself....

Very Strange. Not sure how long it will last, but if it sees me through me hols next week, thats cool! :D

Did the same and now get updates even though free trial has expired. Perhaps its TomTom making up for the extended delay in the availability of the TMC receiver!!!!!!!!!!

Well I'm glad it's not just me going mad!!! 8O

Just checked with Vodafone and they will be charging me £2.35 per MB.

Initial update when I turned it on was 37kb (about 8.5 pence)
Second update 15 mins later was 7kb (about 1.5 pence)

So my conclusion is that if we can keep this going for free, it's not going to be that expensive to run!!! Yippee.....

I have just tried to activate my free trial on my TT One, but get an error saying:

Promotion code does not exist or promotion has ended.

How can this be when I only bought it last week...Or is it because it has been sat on a shelf in a warehouse for months....

You don't activate that way - you get activation of the free trial the moment you register your device with PLUS - it should list Traffic and Cameras in your plus account with an expiration date of next month.

The promotion code is for free promotions like free voices and maps.

Yep, just enabled it and its working just fine. Also noted that I got downloads of European cameras.

Me thinks someone at TomTom has dropped a booby Laughing

Oh yes, forgot to mention the complete set of EU Speed Cameras...
ok, they're free, but still not a patch on PGPSW ones... well not the UK ones anyway.

Now all we have to do is keep quiet and hope it lasts!!!
Anyone taking bets on how long it will?

Ok, definitely looks like a booby on TT's behalf....

Read this:
http://www.yournav.com/content/n/191/TT_PLUS_offerings_and_HOME_updated.html

At £34.00 a year for both, thats a considerable saving on the original costs... but for now, we are saving even more until they realise or someone lets them know!!!
