Hi Everyone, Bit of advice please. If I connect my PDA to my PC, then click on "My Computer", If I call up the properties for the PDA, from there, can i do a Scan Disk and Defrag of my PDA and SD card, Is it a good idea to do it, if so how often, is there another program I should use. Is defraging/scan disk a good idea on memory cards in general, the one in my camera, Play station portable? Thanks in advance for any help.

It is not a good policy to use Defrag on a Memory Card, because of the limited number of Read/Write cycles that it has. Although this may be in the millions, a Defrag can thrash a Card.

Much better to Copy the Card Contents to PC, Reformat the Card then Restore the Copied Files back to the Card. Probably quicker as well.

The main benefit of defrag is to reduce seek times across a drive. While significant performance gains can be achieved on a mechanical hard disk (platter and armature), the gains are far less noticeable on a relatively low capacity solid state storage card.

If you do a Format, and then Restore the Files, this will also be doing the same as a Defrag, but with fewer Read/Writes.;)
