No unlock code needed for maps on icn 530, why?

I bought my navman 530 from ebay but I didn't need to register anything or type in any unlock codes to access my maps.

There's no problem I'm just curious to see if this is normal, looking at the navman website it appears you need to purchase an unlock key for certain maps.

The 530 comes with all maps unlocked as part of the package, hence no unlock codes are required.
