The GPS is not on COM1. Go to the TomTom GPS config screen and select "other bluetooth" COM7 at 38400 _________________ Lutz

Well ... I have a 6340 and the answer does depend upon the version of TT5 you are using. If you have the latest download I think you can do as Lutz says.
But if you are using the earlier version then you need to use the "other NMEA" setting rather than other bluetooth. I know it makes no sense but believe me when I first got it it took me a week to figure it out ,,,, did not know about this forum then _________________ Peter

It depends if you want to let TomTom control your Bluetooth stack ("Other Bluetooth") or if you want to control that yourself ("Other cable"). The GPS function is the same. _________________ Lutz

Thanks for the reply guys...I am one step forward in that it's now moved from "disabled" to "GPS position unreliable" for the last 6hrs...
unfortunately, i do not have com7. The options available are: com1, infrared port, com9,irda, serial port com2, com8, serial on usb, bluesheet serial port com4.
I have selected each in turn but to no avail...
As to the version on TT, it simply says "Tomtom navigator for pocket pc
Anything else I can try?
Thanks |

Ouw! That of course explains it. You need to do a lot more things then...
First of all in the BT Settings on the 6315 you need to enable the outgoing port to make COM7 visible
Then you need to pair the devices in BT manager
And then you need to think about upgrading to TTN5... or TTN6 when it comes out. _________________ Lutz

6315 is equivalent to 6340, just adds a (useless) camera.
On the Today screen, tap the BT icon, then BT settings... Advanced... Serial port... properties. Outgoing port. Needs to be checked. _________________ Lutz

Thanks for the suggestions....but the bloody thing just will not work....BTW, how important is the BT settings if I will be getting signals off an external navigator gps, which connects to the PDA via a cable. is BT still relevant? |
