|
|
I have two GPS applications for my Palm.
TomTom for the UK and UDrive for Israel (TomTom is not available for Israel).
UDrive cannot find the GPS and their support say that TomTom must be locking the GPS.
I have tried rebooting the Palm and also removing the Navigator application, but that did not help.
Is it likely that TomTom is causing the problem?
If so, is there anything other than a hard reset which will free it up? |

No, after a soft reset the port is free, TomTom is not blocking it. Your other application may need to be setup for a different port or speed. What type of receiver are you using? _________________ Lutz

I have both a TomTom (Sirf3) and a Holux 236.
I have tried it using the TomTom only |

I have no problem running Mapopolis or TomTom on the Tungsten T3, using the TomTom BT receiver. Is your program actually working with BT receivers? _________________ Lutz

According to the vendors it does work with BT GPS, and the only times they have seen problems is when TT is installed on the Palm.
I had been hoping there was a set of instructions, like the one for TT on PPC that I could use.
They are arranging to get one of their engineers to phone me and talk me through the problem.
I'll post the results later. |

Spoke to UDrive support yesterday, and now I can switch between TomTom and UDrive.
There were some advanced menu options, which are in the full installation manual (Hebrew only), but not in the Quick Start Guide (Hebrew and English).
If I use TomTom in between two sessions of UDrive, then I have to re-select the GPS, but that is a very minor irritation. |
