I have pocket PC v3.0 running on my Axim 5 but the latest satnav software seems to require Windows Mobile 2003 or above (CoPilot Live 6 for example). Does anyone know whether this pda could run Windows mobile 2003 and where I could get this o/s from.
Thanks |

The official upgrade was withdrawn by Dell quoting compatibility problems.
Try a search on ebay - I've just used "axim x5 2003" in the search field on Ebay, and turned up half a dozen.
Be aware that Dell won't help you if it all goes pear-shaped!

But on the other hand you have the chance of turning something which is starting to become obsolete into something useful. Some might say you have nothing to loose.
But you could buy something far more up to date, for a fraction of the price yours was whe new. |

Thanks guys, seems like cutting loose and moving on is probably the best move here. |

You're absolutely right, neil01. I did this upgrade with my X5, and it works a treat now. It runs Memory Map v5, Tom Tom and Infomap Navigator brilliantly, and simultaneously with Franson Gate running! |
