|
|
I've just upgraded my GO 500 from version 5.440 to 6.140, and discovered that all of my contacts had gone.
In fact they hadn't gone. TomTom have changed the software so that it now looks for the contacts in a different place.
The previous version of the software looked for a file called contacts.txt in the GO's root directory, while new version looks in a directory called "contacts". Simply moving contacts.txt from root down into "contacts" makes it work again.
Makes you wonder what other "shrapnel" the upgrade has left lying around... _________________ Geraint

Better upgrade to 6.15 quickly before you discover the "missing maps" bug. _________________ Lutz

Have I missed something? What's the missing maps bug? TomTom Home didn't list 6.15 as an available update... (I'm using a GO 500 if that makes a difference) _________________ Geraint

But the good thing is - it no longer loses all your text messages or callers history when you reset the unit - they are saved in the new contacts folder too. |
