I have a legal copy of TT5 - bought last year. I recently (this weekend) upgraded my Ipaq 4700 to WM5 and applied the 2.01 patch - all seems OK and it is fast....
So, I thought I'd try TomTom on my upgraded device. It has been working fine for about a year so far (since 5.1 came out).
So, I got 5.21 downloaded and installed it on my PPC. No issues so far. Start it up and it takes me though the set up. Gets to the voices - and no voices. OK - I can sort that out later. Select any voice and TT exits back to the Today screen. Happens every time - even after a soft reset.
So, anyone any ideas what I am supposed to do now?
thanks

OK - I seem to have fixed it. Re-Installed it and it got through now. Except I have no voices. How do I add them?

Have you got the installation disk CD? if so pop this into the drive on the PC, locate the voice folder on the CD, then copy the relevent CAB file for the voice you need to the PDA memory card engf or engm - don't bother with the .wav of .ini files.
On the PDA find the CAB file you have copied across (look for it in file Explorer) and simply tap it, this will install the voice for you. - Mike |

Sorted - many thanks.
Now, why has the Today Screen for TT disappeared? It's marked as "to display" in Today settings, but it isn't there anymore. It was - till I removed a couple of things. Now, even if I put everything back, no TT.
I'll try and re-install from the cab file.

Instead of reinstalling just try soft reseting the machine. I have had the same problem and it sorted it _________________ Tcepser

Tried that and it didn't work. I re-installed from the 5.1 cab file (wiz.cab) and it all worked again.
Possibly installing the voice directly upset something.
