|
|
Hi,
I have seen econdhand maps of european countries that people have bought for a holiday and then never used again. They are selling them on Ebay as genuine and with the plastic activation card.
Will these maps load onto a different Tomtom if somebody has used them once?
Please note, I am NOT trying to buy pirated softward, just genuine secondhand software at a discounted price OR am I just being niave?
Thanks |

If you have a genuine product and the Plastic Card with Code, the only problem you will have is, when was the last activation invoked. If yours is the third, then there has to be a 6 month period between the second and the third.
You should also try to Register them on TomTom's Website, then you will have an 'Upgrade' path for any new Maps (as/when/if). _________________ Richard

Hi zzr1200,
The previous owner may have kept a record of the product code.
If there is an upgrade path for the maps you have to supply the product code of the older maps, as which point that unique code becomes unusable. So if the previous own uses the Product code to buy new maps before you do, then your code won't work and you'll have to pay full price for the new maps.
