|
|
Hi,
I don't seem to be able to add a POI (ie speed camera etc) when I need to on the 510 - I seem to remember doing this on my old 300 (before it was nicked).
I've tried accesing them via the browse map icon - and I get to cursor position and add POI - but it only shows me those I have created myself - I wanted to add a rest area and new speed cameras, but can't do it...any help appreciated.

Think this is what you mean ?
How can I create my own POIs?
1. Tap the screen to bring up the Main Menu.
2. Tap Change preferences.
3. Tap Manage POIs.
4. Before you can add a POI, you have to create at least one POI category.
Every POI is assigned to a POI category. You can only add POIs to POI
categories you have created yourself.
Tap Add POI category.
5. Enter a name for your POI category, for example, ‘Friends’ or ‘Favourite
restaurants’. Then select a marker for your POI category.
6. Tap Add POI.
7. Select the POI category you want to add the POI to.
8. Select the location of your POI from the list below. |

Ah! Thanks for that - I was afraid TomTom may have removed that function - I'm sure it was there before...
How do users add a POi to an existing category then? is it just not possible at all? It seems a bit daft to have to create your own "Museums" category when one already exists? |

Tom tom lock there own ones so they cant be modefied.
you can all ways turn there one off and use one from a free site rember though i think with the 510 you can only add something like 39 different ones but i cant be certain as i use a 910 |

Thanks Tonys66, at least I know I'm not overlooking something - seems a like TomTom have taken a backward step here though. |
