Howdie Folks,
Having a few issues getting Copilot 3.1.5 working with my PDA/GPS.
I have an Ipaq 3850 and Navman 3000 GPS sleave. I have installed the software for Copilot on my PDA, but so far I have not been able to get the check mark to activate the receiving capablitys of the GPS.
I am 100% sure the GPS jacket is working, as it performs flawlessly with my TomTom software.
The only time i can get a check mark is if i choose the cable or cf option in the settings, to which end it brings up a "ReInit" message, and to reselect the Jacket, i have to re-install the software.
Can anyone help with this problem?
Many thanks

The CoPilot 3.5 software you have, was it the software only version (which allows you to use any GPS Receiver), or did it come bundled with hardware (restricted to the ALK Receivers) ? |

Dave,
Thanks for your response. I will have to admit I am not sure which version it is. I bought it off Ebay (yeah i know!!) Its an original CD, so its not a pirate copy or anything like that.
Is there away of finding out if it is just the software or part of a bundle??
Rgds

You could always contact ALK UK and see if they can tell you. The other option is to test it with other GPS Hardware, if you've got access to a CF GPS card, then I would try it with that. It should work with the Navman sleeve, but there have been some issues in the past, so I'm not sure if the issue you are seeing is down to a bundled software license, or a hardware issue.
Normally if you have the CoPilot 3.5 bundled version and it's not an ALK GPS Receiver, then it will normally start connecting to the GPS but after a minute or two you will receive a message back saying it can only work with an official receiver, and it will stop functioning at this time.
It sounds to me that you probably are experiencing a different problem, but I haven't heard of this before. |
