|
|
I bought the 910 from Easy devices in May and have had a bit of a roller coaster ride with it. I love it to bits but it has played up a bit and frozen up on the odd occasion resulting in many a reset.
I was away in gloucestershire on holiday last week and used it very successfully to get to the hotel. Next morning with all the places we wanted to visit primed in my favourites I tried to turn it on and..............nothing - absolutely dead! It was fully charged and the green light came on when I touched the power button but nothing happened.
Absolutely devastated that it had let me down and we had to stop at a garage to buy an atlas.
Got home and after a few frantic phone calls and emails finally tomtom arranged to collect it and have said they will repair it for me.
Not really happy as I am now without it and need it for business trips during the next two weeks.
Was hoping to get a replacement but apparently as it is after 28 days they did not have to do this.
So I am back to the old atlas for the timebeing and hoping that when it comes back it will be reliable and not let me down again.
When I spoke to tomtom they said it was the first case they had heard of where it would not turn on at all - anyone here had it at all and did they resolve it? |

had a few problems when the unit didnt turn on even though it was charged etc, a simple reset has fired the unit up every time. |

Happened to my 510 a couple of days after I got it. After a bit of a panic I gave it a reset and have not had any issues since. |

Shame about the device, and carrying the pin to reset the thing when it all goes wrong, I am not surprised giving the unit a "rest" didn't work though I usually find a rest is very worth while - Mike |

Just had one of my 910's die on me like this. When I press the reset button I cannot feel a click like I can with the good one which suggests it may be the reset button itself that has failed. Pressing the power button lights the Power LED whilst its pressed but it won't power up.
I've only just returned from hols so will discuss with TomTom tomorrow. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Exactly the same symptons as me Darren.
Seems they may have a problem, lets hope they can overcome it as I still love the gadget! |

It happened to me when I was stuck in the 20mile queue on the M25 returning from the airport Friday eve. Thankfully my PocketPC rescued the day and enabled us to avoid the 4hr delay that ensued from a truck fire/diesel spill near Leatherhead. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Went to the motor show today, and think I upset the poor young man at the tomtom stand! He came up so happy trying to sell me one then backed off when I told him of my predicament. :D |
