I have a Lowe antenna which I used to use with my Garmin GPS II and tomtom running on an ipaq.

I have now got myself a Garmin streetpilot i3 which uses the MCX connector for the external antenna.

Does anyone know where I can get a cable to convert from BNC to MCX?

Have a look at THIS although a search via altavista or google will return a number of options, simply enter "MCX to BNC" in the search engine (include the quotes as well), have a look around and there are loads listed, the one I have linked to is random from many - check for price/ delivery etc - Mike

Thanks. I should have done a simpler search when I tried googleing for one earlier.

I found this one (uk based) http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=3010221
£15.42 all inclusive.

Seems a bit expensive when I can get a new antenna for less - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GPS-Antenna-Aerial-Amplifier-MC-MCX-MMCX-BNC-SMA-SMB_W0QQitemZ260006147689QQihZ016QQcategoryZ4668QQcmdZViewItem
Do you have any knowledge of these?

To be honest I would go with the new external antenna, as an addaptor cable means more insertion loss which will futher degrade the signal. I have no experiance of the unit you linked to but it should work OK, do you really need the external unit as I find my i3 works fine? - although I am not constrained by a heat reflective windscreen etc - Mike

I haven't used it much but I just wanted to find out what I needed to get if I did find that I needed an external antenna. I only have a normal windscreen so I dont really expect to have any problems.
