I commented on a post below about a return to Pixmania. I took the option to return a product under the 7 day DSA rules and returned it the day after I got it.
It has taken almost three weeks to reach Pixmania although I sent it by Special delivery through Parcel Force and today I got an email telling me that they had got it but it was subjected to a technical inspection which will take THREE to FOUR WEEKS! This email was followed by another three in quick sucession saying exactly the same thing.
While hovering above my chair in disgust and writing this, I got another email saying the product had been inspected and deemed faulty and I think the gist was that I would get my money back within 8 days. So much for the 3 to 4 weeks.
What a fiasco! Never again will I use this firm, it really isn't worth it. Don't buy in case you have the misfortune to have to return.

Just to update, the firm emailed me today to say my card had been recredited so things have moved on since yesterday.
What has annoyed me most of all about this is the near three week wait for the parcel to go from me to the company. Apart from that, i am reasonably satisfied.
I have bought from them before and the delivery was fine and I kept the item. No complaints there. It's just the return process.

was the return delivery delay caused by pixmania or parcel force?
if its parcel force then it doesnt seem that bad a service although stating 3 - 4 weeks for an inspection is a long time. |

Was the delay caused by ParcelForce or Pixmania? Who can tell. I got it to ParcelForce in Coventry the day after sending it. There is no way of telling where it is until you receive an email from Pixmania telling you it has been received. I rang them every few days or so and got told the same thing - we have no idea until it gets here!
Not so good.

I bought a camera off them a couple of years ago, Canon G5. It developed a fault and took me ages to get through to their tech support. Eventually, they gave me an RMA number and asked me to send it back for repair.
Postage cost me £23!!! recorded delivery to France.
A week later they hadnt contacted me to say they received it, so i rang them. I was told they had it and would be looking at it soon. Another week later I rang again to be told they didnt have my camera, they got the name mixed up with someone else!! Mine hadnt arrived, even though it was 48 hour recorded delivery.
Panic!!
Rang Parcelfarce and gave them the post reference, they said I had to wait 30 days before I could claim.
I have to say that i spoke to a most arrogant jerk at Parcelforce, wont use them again!
Anyway, after 30 days, i got my money back from Parcelfarce, plus they refunded the postage.
So, would I use Pixmainia again? No way
Would I use Parcelfarce again, well, yes I did, and they delivered a "next day delivery" item 28 days later, so, never again!

I had similar trauma trying to return a camera. Was returned to a UK address, but had to wait 4 weeks as Pixmania say they send it to their HQ in France for inspection!
I wouldn't use them again. |

Pixmania is a retailler to AVIOD BIG TIME. I ordered a monitor from them last year which Parcelforce managed to loose and it took about 3 weeks to get it sorted out.
Pixmania are also very bad at not reading e-mails and sending template replies, I lost count of the number of times I had to give up and call them.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! Being based in France makes it so much more difficult to sort issues out.
Mine only cost sorted when I said I would get my credit card company involved. |

I've used this Company several times and never had a problem.
I think that the delay's are ParcelForce, which is useless, they have delayed or lost several items when i've used other companies, maybe Pixmania would be better off using someone else - but i suppose it comes down to price again.
As for accepting payment when the goods are not in stock, this is a practice used by nearly all internet companies, as the web sites don't always keep up with stock or availability, i see this all the time in a different industry.
Again they will all offer to return the money but it always takes 2/3 weeks.
If you buy on the web because it's cheaper, this (for the moment) is how it is, you can always pay more and gain a better service, using your local shops.
As you have heard before "you get what you pay for" it may not always be the product but often the delivery or collection either side which spells disaster but controlled by a third party - not the seller. _________________ TomTom Go 60

i bought a camera off pixmania a couple of years ago, a sony cybershot w1, they said it would get to me in 2 days and it took more like 6 BUT it was over xmas and new year so not their fault, i have just ordered a tomtom go 910 from them and i will let you know what happens, in my opinion if you use these websites for buying stuff then you need to understand that they are cheaper for a reason, and to be fair if you have a fault and have to send it back to the manufacturer how long do you think they would take? i bet it would be about the same. if i get a fault with my tomtom i will send it back to tomtom.
if you want better service buy it from argos or currys as you can walk in and slap it on the counter
before i order off anyone like them i always ring them first and ask loads of questions, i did this with pixmania and found them very helpfull and in my opinion well trained as the girl i spoke to told me everything i wanted to know about warranty/returns/postage. thats good enough for me.
