The files should end with an asc file extension, have you unzipped the downloaded file to a specfic folder on the PC then point the POI Loader application to this folder? - Mike |

I am following the directions on this site...it says 'click file, open and point to the folder where you extracted the files' When I do this I get the message 'Unknown file format'....
When I click file in POI Editor it gives the option to 'open text file' or 'new text file'. |

You need to unzip the downloaded file first. _________________ Tim |

Ok I've done it..... you need to take the files OUT of the zip directory THEN it works, it's not enough just to unzip the files Thanks for your help guys.....
P.S
Blimey! You don't get much notice of an upcoming camera..... |

Taking the files out of the zipfile is unzipping them. :D Exploring the zipfile isn't. Change the warning distance from 150' to 1500' or 1/4 mile and you'll get plenty of warning. _________________ Tim |

When you download the zipfile, you get the option of where to save it to. Make a note of that location or change it to one you will remember. When you unzip the download, the files will be in a new directory in your saved location. _________________ Tim |

As a general suggestion use a program such as Zip Genius (http://www.zipgenius.it/eng/index.php) or Win Zip (http://www.winzip.com). Both handle alot more formats than XP's built in zip folder explorer and its less confusing than viewing a folder and thinking its extracted when your still deep inside the zip file. |

If both people having trouble could say what vesion of Windows (XP, 2000, ME etc.) they are using, someone will be able to provide a step-by-step procedure for that OS. |
