hello all,
do any of you know if we can have some form of speed limit POIs on Tomtom ? i used to hav Navigon MN5 and the speed limit was on it by default and it was always nice to know what is the speed limit on a certain road, which is very useful if one is in a region not well known...
basically, the navigon software would show the speed limit of the road you are on

The Pocket Gps World speed camera database can be downloaded in various forms. One of the options are the cameras in Speed Zone type. i.e. The cameras are in individual files for each speed and camera type.
I know this isnt quite what you mean as if there isnt a camera on the road you still wont know what the speed should be, however, its a great help and the other way of course is to look for speed signs, if there arent any then I would suggest 30mph.
:D

The newer Go-x10 series of units do have the legal speed of the road displayed next to your current speed, it will turn red and flash when you exceed the limit by a few MPH.
But, not all roads are mapped, so it simply shows your current speed, as always with any device limits change relative to when the data was collated - so use your eyes and read the signs, it is the road signs that are displaying the correct legal speed limit, not necessarly the sat nav -
As for the creation of a POI for speed limits, it has been asked for before, the task would be too large, with the data out of date before it was even 50% compiled! So you won't be seeing a POI file for this - Mike
