Should I be patient........?

Need a sat nav unit and because my 2 main requirements are a very compact size and good battery life (I hate messy wires) I have narrowed my search down to a Garmin Nuvi 350 (I'd like European mapping) and a potential new offering from the chaps at Drivesmart. The Nuvi seems to tick all the boxes, very small, Sirf III, non messy mounting, 4-8 hours battery life and a lot of good reviews. At nearly £400 thought I wouldn't say it's particularly cheap. The Drivesmart Mercury, when it eventually comes out will also be a speed camera detector straight out of the box with free lifetime updates. It will also be Sirf III and judging by the feedback I'm getting it will be a compact unit and it apparently will have the same screen from the Sony PSP. And it will only come in around £300. I think Pocket GPS will be getting a unit soon to review. Only problem is I'm driving to Germany next week and would like a Sat Nav unit for that Germany.

Anyone have any ideas on what I should do? Or know anymore on this Drivesmart unit?
