I have a TomTom Classic. Is it possible to change and lock the scale of the main map? The + and - signs at the top of the display allow the scale to be increased or decreased but, after about 10 seconds, the scale re-sets to the standard. Is it possible to change the scale and lock it (ie over-riding the automatic re-set)? I can't find anything in the handbook about this |

Welcome to the forum, unfortunatly there is nothing you can do with respect to the scale of the map when viewed this way, the device knows best and will "auto zoom" to the level it is programed for, this is quite normal for the software to exhibit this trait - Mike |

Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the help. Since I do a lot of driving on motorways, information about the next half mile is pretty pointless. Knowing which towns are near to the motorway (eg some towns on the rural parts of the M6 are 2 or more miles away) is much more useful. If TomTom doesn't offer this facility, are there other SatNav systems which do? |
