Installing new map on 1Gb card

Hi

I have just bought a new 1Gb SD card and copied over all the files and it works OK. The trouble starts when I try and install the new map that I downloaded from Tomtom. I get a 'Disk Access Error' message. I have tried to install via the Tomtom & via a card reader with the same result. Any solutions out there?

Hi

No, I did check that one! , I've managed to copy the old card onto the new one and it works just fine, I just can't get the new map to install. I go through the options in the setup program and it won't install. I tried doing the same with the smaller card (also not original), but I get the message that the card is full.The device code that I entered before downloading the map is also the correct one for the TT1.

What size is the file you are installing (or trying to) also check the free space available on the new card, I had a strange one earlier today with a new card that contained "demo" mp3 and photos, at least 250MB consumed on a new card, not my idea of fun - Mike

I'm trying to install the map of france which is a 350 Mb download and the card has 850 Mb free.

From Tomtom Support: There may be a problem with the SD card itself - have you had problems installing other files onto this card? We would recommend formatting the SD card, and attempting to reinstall the France map again.

I tried this, but still no luck.
