Hi All,
Been looking for my answers thru the site before posting, but to be honest, couldn't really see it.
I reckoned the database comparison would be a winner, but I couldn't find one containing things like the tomtom etc.
Anyway..
I want an in car sat nav system mainly for UK, but maybe for some Eu.
I'd like it to have voice instructions, but able to silence them. (But may choose to install without if feeling too lazy)
I want to be able to add POI files, such as pizza places and speed cameras.
I want the install to be fairly simple (lazy these days).
I DON'T want Ipod interface, or it to play MP3's really.
I don't know if these features are standard on all usual units or not, so really looking for a start point before I start to ask more technical Q's.
Can someone recommend units easily available that will do above please to give me a start point.(I've found the bumpf on units glosses over the useful bits of info)
thanks |

a tomtom one would the obvious answer as it easy to use and easy to add POI's another one would be something like a garmin nuvi 300 or one of the new mio devices _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

Most of your requirements are standard. the only one to watch is the adding your own POIs. Most do that but some of the cheaper units, such as the Navman iCN3xx range do not.
Really does come down to what you find easiest to use. Best bet is to find a shop that has them on display so that you can play with them. _________________ Peter
