Gentlemen,
I have read your article on the membership benefits etc and I am seriously considering joing particularly for the UK updateable camera database.
Ialso believe that you have some software for the recording of and uploading new cameras, Does this software also allow you to download the updates in much the same way as Checkpoint does ??
Also does this same software give the verbal warnings of approaching cameras and do you get some sort of visual display down the side of the screen, say a sliding scale from green to reed, again similar to Checkpoint ??
My final question is that I am running TTN 5.1 on a HP 2790 which uses Windows Mobile 5 as the OS. Will the programmes I have just spoken about above run successfully in WM5, as Checkpoint, which I was using, will not entertain it at all, a right disaster !! ??

POICapture for the recording of new cameras does work on Windows Mobile 2002, 2003, and WM 5. This software is exclusively for capturing POIs, not for downloading them. The download is manual.
You can get verbal warnings through another product of ours, www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-poi-alerts.php , or rom third party programs that allow you to record your own voices.
Visual warnings are only provided by the built-in POI alerter in TTN 5.
We have no interface to Checkpoint (at least I am not aware of any, but then again I am sitting on the other side of the pond...) _________________ Lutz
Thanks for the prompt informative response. Your answers have prompted me to ask a few further questions as follows;
You mentioned POI Capture, it sounds good, but where do you manually download the camera updated databases from ?? Is that all to do with the UK camera database software when downloaded after paying for your membership ??
OK about the warnings, well I can download and install them as I have done now for the standard camera POI's and other poi's using POI Extender. I have no choice now as Checkpoint will no longer run in WM5

Yes, that is one option. We are not the only ones offering camera POIs, you could also get them from TomTom or scdb.com or other site. From what I hear our database is the most accurate. _________________ Lutz
