Garmin 2610 Upload

Can someone help a silly old duffer.

I've downloaded the camera database.

I've downloaded the POI file. Both saved to "my documents"

I've uploaded to my 2610, when I check the memory card it tells me they are there.

But nothing is showing up on my maps.

The camera file says it is 156 kb, is that correct.

What am I doing wrong. ( Answers in beginners language please).
