help please

Hi All I hope some one can help me i have just got a MICROMAXX median unit and ive loaded TomTom 5 , its installed ok but i cant get it to see the gps device (arial) i know the tomtom works as it is installed on my dads pda but it has an external tomtom arial,
please can some one help thanks in advance

Assuming that it is the same as the MITAC MIO 168

Tap the screen to get the main menu
Change Preferences | Show GPS status (Default location is on page 4 of 6) | Configure | select Other NMEA GPS (you may have to use the left/right arrows to get it to display) | Select | Baud rate of 4800 | Done | tap 'Serial Cable on SP2:' | you should be back to the GPS Status screen where you should see several satellites along with their signal strength. Eventually several should turn blue - you have a fix.
