I hope that this is the correct place to ask.
I have an iMac G4 with Virtual PC for Mac loaded (last time I used Windows Microsoft was y-e-a-r-s ago , I have forgotten what little I knew ). I can use IE on this to download the Garmin updates for the c310 but cannot get the computer to talk to the Garmin.
Garmin CD is loaded, USB link cable is connected but I keep getting a window that tells me nothing is connected, so Garmin and iMac / Virtual PC are not communicating.
What do i need to find in order to get a link, where do I look in Windows (XP version ) to find it and enable?
Thanks

I would be intertested to find out if there is any way around this issue. Based on my experience with a similar setup, it is a fruitless effort to get VPC to get communicated with Garmin. I've been trying this through many generations of Mac and VPC with no success. It has something to do with how they (Mac OS and Windows share the common ports). VPC works with Palm devices but not Garmin.
According to the Garmin tech support, once they release the Mac compatible Garmin products, you would be able to purchase software/maps that would work with the Mac as well (This coming Fall). |
