Windscreens

I am thinking of buying a Dell/Tom Tom GPS system. Is it likely that the GPS receiver would suffer problems if my car (BMW 320d) has a heat reflecting windscreen.


Would appreciate anyones comments.

If it does have a heat reflective windscreen then any system you install will suffer problems. What you will need to do is either have an antenna you can either have small enough to place on the roof, and have the cable trailing outside, or if you have an area of the windscreen which doesn't have a HR/UV coating on, you may get signal there. You probably won't be able to tell for sure until you purchase the system and try it.

I'm not sure if the 320 has HR/UV protection or not.
