|
|
Hello
When I purchased my TomTom 700 it arrived pre loaded with each type of speed camera loaded as a POI (not with the relevent speed limit). I set aural warnings for each type. I recently subscribed to "pocketgpsworld" and downloaded the latest database "Consolidated by type". Having unzipped and copied the cv2 files to the europe map folder these new files did not overwrite the old ones as the file names are different. So I now have similar files with different names for each of the five UK categories of camera, eg: gatso.ov2 and pocketgps-uk-gatso.ov2. I did not copy the .bmp files. I also have duplicate POI`s for each cmera type if I go to Managing your POI`s on the TomTom, but only the old files are currently programmed to give a warning.
My question is: What do I have to do to have the latest camera locations replace the old ones, and do I also need to copy the .bmp files in order to set up new warnings.
Thanks, David I |

You'll need to delete TomTom's pre-installed database, this can be done using the HOME app (as always, take a back-up first).
Delete the pre-installed .ov2 and .bmp files then copy over ours including the .bmps. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for answering so promptly. I will delete all the old .ov2 & .bmp files, and then copy across your .bmps. Can you confirm what you mean by the HOME app? Do I connect the TomTom to my PC using the USB lead and then delete from within My Computer or is there an easier way?

Apologies, you wrote you had a 700 and I misinterpreted it as a 710. The HOME app doesn't apply to you so yes, connect via USb, browse the the Western_Europe map folder and delete the existing speed camera databases and associated .bitmaps. Apologies for the confusion! _________________ Darren Griffin |
