Hi,
Can anyone explain in simple terms how I can copy my full 256mb sd card complete with programmes onto a new 1gb card I have bought please Question
This is a PERSONAL COPY ONLY as I'm up-grading my memory so I can run more voices and pictures etc than my standard 256mb card can run.
Thanks in anticipation, :D
Al.

In true 'suck it and see' style I just attached my tt one to my mac via usb and it appeared as a removable storage device.

Copied the entire contents to a folder marked 'tomtom backup'

Disconnected tt, and switched to new (biggier) memory card.

Reconnected, and copied the contents of 'tomtom backup' (not the whole folder) to the new card.

Disconnect tt, reboot, and Robert's your Mothers brother.

Was tabbing around with Safari and managed to generate a triple(!) post. Perhaps a Mod can go on a deleting session? Thanks, Dave.

As suggested earlier, just drag and drop from the folder to SD card.
Or use the "Restore Backup" option, obviously you need to backup first.

I've tried both methods including using a card reader and all work ok without any problems.

The card reader method was a lot faster though, and saves having to keep changing cards in the TomTom.

the easiest way is to make a folder in my documents then use a card reader open the sd card in windows explorer the then go to tools then floder options, select veiw and then make sure "show hidden files" is checked the select apply then ok you should see some files you couldnt see before, highlight all the files and copy and paste the files to the folder in my documents then to copy the new sd card just copy the files from the my documents folder to the sd card

dont copy the folder to the sd card copy each file

Or use the TomTom app to backup then restore to the new card.
