|
|
I have just bought a Palm Tungsten E2 Navigation Companion which came with maps of GB and Ireland on CD and UK on SD Card.
I would like to get my hands on maps of France in SD Card format - do i need to buy the software package again - this is what viamichelin are telling me - that there is no other option than to pay a further 149 euros?
Would appreciate any advice you could give - I leave for France in a couple of weeks ! |

Hi 24Ka, Yes, I think the only way will be to buy an SD card with French maps from ViaMitchelin, €149 is for the softwear on SD card. You say"do i need to buy the software package again", not sure what you mean, the ViaMitchelin program is already on your Palm, you are just buying the maps, which are expensive. Dont know if you could buy a "copy" of the french maps off ebay, or if a copy would work. I run my UK maps from a copy I made from my Original.[/quote] _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

I think the point being made here is that ViaMichelin only sells software and maps together as a package. You can't buy just maps. In this case 24ka wants to buy maps of France but to do that has to buy a completely unnecessary second copy of the software as well. The cost of the French package is EUR 149, but a large part of this must be for the software content. Why doesn't ViaMichelin sell only the maps for, say, EUR 49 ? |
