Hi - I have been trying to add a map of France to my Tomtom 5.21 on a XDA 2i - but having loaded it on to the SD card where the GB map is Tomtom will not recognise it. I have used several methods to put it on the card including Activesync. The France map came from a 5.0 edition of Tomtom - could this be the reason? TIA - Doogan. |

Where did you get the map from? When you say that it came from a 5.0 version of Tom Tom does that mean it is a copy of software that has already been registered? _________________ Peter

Make sure you are putting the map in the root of the storage card, it should have it's own directory like France_Navigator_Map etc. Not anywhere else crazy like in a subdirectory of the GB map.
You will also need to activate the map as it looks like you are using a pirated version you probably won't be able to do that. |

Hi - I hope its not pirated, I bought a pda with Tomtom 5.0 and these maps already on it. Now I have another pda with Tomtom 5.21. Anyway its in the root. The thing is that the Iberia map from the same source was recognised OK. Regards - Doogan. |

Strange. I can only think that somehow it hasn't copied properly. As far as I know there is no different in the map file formats as 5.0 to 5.21 was just a change in the software, not the maps. |

Or possibly legitimate, but outside the terms of the licence agreement, hence the problems. |

That's in fact incorrect. 5.21 will no longer open v4 maps. The OP maps seem to be of that variety. _________________ Lutz
